oink oink oink

Alright! Piggie vacation! The Mexican health authority has just canceled ALL classes throughout the ENTIRE country until the 6th of May. Some think that it's a Mexican conspiracy to keep voters in their homes and away from the polls. Right now they're having federal elections. Sometimes an overreaction can work in my favor! Yeah, yeah, better safe than sorry. (and why don't we err on the side of caution every flu season? I mean, 64,000 Americans DIE every year from the yearly flu mutation.)

Any plans for your vacation? Isn't it amazing that one animal can make both bacon and vacation?

no plans. i'm pinching pesos. a mystery poster who struck me as some type of authority on a law school forum suggested that accepted law students read a book from this "explanations and examples" series during the summer. between torts, civil procedure, criminal justice and something else i chose contracts. so, i guess i spend some time reading that. the general suggestion though is just to read a lot. i've certainly read a lot more than i had in the past (about a book a month?), but i realize that it doesn't compare to what i have to look forward to. well, this "vacation" accompanied with my financial situation leaves me no choice other than reading.

Nothing wrong with a little brain expanding. I wouldn't mind some mandatory vacation myself just to get some time on the projects I want to work on instead of the ones that feed me.

Here's what Cal. State Sen. Barbara Boxer sent us in her e-mail website attachment:
MEXICO Baja California Norte
24/04/2009 Two fatalities
Thirteen fatal cases of severe respiratory illness were reported in Mexico City; four in San Luis Potosi, a city north of the capital; two in the state of Baja California Norte, bordering California; and another in Oaxaca city in the south.
That's a little coincidental don't you think. Mom
